Microsoft ha tuttavia sancito allora una serie di restrizioni ben precise per evitare che i produttori continuino ad utilizzare il sostema operativo Windows XP anche su macchine tradizionali. In particolare le macchine abilitate alla licenza di Windows XP devono limitarsi al massimo ad un display di 10,2 pollici, 1GB di memoria centrale e 80GB di capienza dell'hard disk.

Secondo quanto si apprende da una notizia pubblicata sul sito web Digitimes, Microsoft avrebbe in questi giorni modificato la restrizione relativa alla periferica di storage, autorizzando così l'impiego di Windows XP anche su macchine equipaggiate con dischi fino a 160GB. Cogliendo la palla al balzo, sia MSI, sia Asustek hanno già annunciato le varianti a 160GB delle proprie soluzioni Wind Notebook U100 e Eee PC 1000H.

La decisione di Microsoft ha raccolto pareri positivi attraverso l'industria, dal momento che la possibilità di commercializzare netbook con una capienza di storage di tutto rispetto rappresentarà un stimolo alla domanda per questi prodotti.

Hace unos días estuve leyendo sobre la nueva campaña publicitaria de Microsoft con una inversión de 300 millones de dólares. Su objetivo es mejorar la imagen o la reputación que tiene el sistema operativo Windows Vista, para así tener una manera de responderle a su competencia número uno del mercado: Apple Inc.

Por su parte el Vicepresidente de Microsoft Brad Brooks dijo que “lo que la marca representa, particularmente en el caso de Windows Vista, ya ha sido definido por los competidores. Ha llegado el momento de que contemos nosotros nuestra historia”. Claro está que se refiere a los famosos anuncios de Apple de los que existen más de 30 videos basados en 2 personajes que desarrollan un drama fenomenal, uno siendo una Mac y el otro siendo una Pc.

A mi parecer, lo que se está tratando de reflejar es lo que Windows Vista significa según su empresa: flexibilidad, resistencia, fortaleza y comodidad. En el Spot publicitario aparece Bill Gates (Cofundador de Microsoft )  en una zapatería, tratando de encontrar un modelo que le sirva para el diario vivir. Al momento llega el famoso comediante Jerry Seinfeld quién le sirve de ayuda para elegir los adecuados.

Ahora bien, mi pregunta es ¿por qué hacer un anuncio en este momento? A mi parecer estás son las 2 simples razones:

• Realidad Numérica: Microsoft está preocupado por las estadísticas en ventas que ha lanzado Vista desde el 2007 hasta la fecha. Muchos de los usuarios, principalmente en latinoamérica, desde que compran una pc le cambian el sistema operativo por el anterior Windows 2007 ya que dice ser "mucho más eficiente".
• Fuerte competencia: Como dije anteriormente, Apple Inc. se ha encargado de tener una muy buena estrategia de publicidad en la que personalmente estoy de acuerdo ya que todo lo que se dice, es una realidad. No es por que sea usuario de Apple, pero considero que es un imperio que día tras día crece más y más brindándole al consumidor cosas innovadoras que sólo las hace realidad Apple. Finalmente espero que esta campaña pueda rendirle a Microsoft un poco de la tranquilidad que necesita ya que tienen en proyecto continuar con estos anuncios. A Continuación les anexo el vídeo publicitario de Windows Vista by Microsoft:

"That huge bundle of damning emails and documents Microsoft produced as part of the Vista-capable lawsuit is full of fascinating information about how the company developed, planned, and launched Vista, but the latest juicy nugget to come out if it suggests that a lot of problems faced by the troubled operating system are actually NVIDIA's fault -- nearly 30% of logged Vista crashes were due to NVIDIA driver problems, according to Microsoft data included in the bundle. That's some 479,326 hung systems, if you're keeping score at home, and it's in first place by a large margin -- Microsoft clocks in at number two at 17.9 percent, and ATI is fourth with 9.3 percent. Menggunakan "Programs and Features" :

1. Buka Control Panel, klik Programs, dan klik View Installed Updates.
2. Pada daftar software Microsoft Windows list, klik kanan Service Pack for Microsoft Windows (KB936330), dan kemudian klik Uninstall.
3. Restart Komputer.

Menggunakan "Command Line" :

1. Buka Command Prompt (click Start, ketik command pada StartSearch box, klik kanan CommandPrompt, dan klik Run as administrator).
2. Jalankan perintah (diasumsikan file Windows6.0-KB936330.exe berada di folder C:\temp): C:\temp\Windows6.0-KB936330-X86.exe /x:C:\temp
3. Untuk membuat sandbox, ketik md.
4. Untuk menghapus Vista SP1, ketik start /w pkgmgr.exe /m:c:\temp\Windows6.0-KB936330-X86.cab /up /s:.
5. Setelah perintah Pkgmgr.exe selesai dijalankan, restart komputer anda.

Lo spot ha come protagonista il magnate del software affiancato dal comico americano in un negozio di calzature e rappresenta l'inizio di una grande campagna pubblicitaria per un valore di 300 milioni di dollari.

La pubblicità è andata in onda due giorni fa negli States e vede Bill indossare il modello di scarpe "Conquistador", calzatura riconosciuta da una famiglia che, invece, non ha riconosciuto il miliardario. Non mancano gli elementi comici dove Gates sfoggia un tesserino recante la sua immagine in età adolescenziale e Seinfeld che gli domanda se avesse mai pensato a fare computer gustosi come le torte. Lo spot non fa riferimenti a Windows o a Vista.

La campagna è stata pensata per:

• contrastare la serie "Mac vs Pc" della Apple

• rilanciare l'immagine fallimentare di Vista

Sarà realmente un futuro delizioso come professa lo spot?

Microsoft recently launched a $300 million ad campaign in an effort to give its image a makeover. As of late, Apple has been dominating the ad side of things with their successful Mac guy, the hipper alternative to the dorky, stodgy PC. Charged with reversing Microsoft’s brand, the company has decided remake itself into a more family friendly company and also help consumers move past all the negative talk about Windows Vista. I personally don’t have anything bad to say about Vista, but then again I’m more interested in web browsers than operating systems anyway. (Go Firefox!) According to some things I have read, critics aren’t optimistic that Windows can remake its image. Well Microsoft isn’t drinking that Kool-Aid. As part of the $300 million they are spending on the brand, $10 million of that will go to comedian Jerry Seinfeld, one of the most popular television stars of the last couple of decades. The ads debuted last night during the first NFL game between the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins. I think this was a great way to launch the ads in front a large captive audience, especially since both of those television markets are sizable, and the NFL as a whole is a national broadcast. In the commercial Jerry actually teams up with Microsoft’s own Bill Gates, who plays his usually nerdy persona to perfection with that type of deadpan acting that most non-actor types (athletes, ceo’s, etc) can get away with. I didn’t catch it live, but saw it on Youtube. I won’t tell you how it ends or what its about, its funny so I don’t want to ruin it for you. Check it out and tell me what you think about it?

Uns defendem o Windows(poucos) e outros o Linux(muitos), a verdade é que os dois SOs possuem as suas peculiaridades boas ou ruins mas têm.

No Windows, você instala programas, drivers proprietários entre outras coisas muito mais facilmente e o melhor que funciona a maioria dos programas nas diversas "distros do Windows".

Já no Linux você tem um pouco mais de dificuldade com relação aos programas e drivers proprietários, já que o SO tem código fonte aberto entre outras coisas, porém com o Linux, você tem inúmeras distribuições e diversos tipos de interfaces o que já é interessante.

Eu particularmente falando gosto dos dois, do Windows porque foi onde eu comecei a mexer e sei fazer algumas coisas nele e não me perco, no Linux eu me perco um pouco mas ganho a possibilidade de aprender coisas novas e diferentes o que é muito bom para mim.

Acho que é só.

Según la revista PC actual, el sustituto de Windows Vista se llamará Windows 7, y estará disponible en enero de 2010. Parece ser que el nuevo sistema de Microsoft va a ser lo más parecido a Mac OS X que se ha visto nunca. Os cuento:

Lo que busca Microsoft es que el usuario tenga la misma experiencia positiva que el usuario de Mac OS, en el cual, todos los periféricos que se conectan funcionan correctamente y sin problemas, siempre y cuando en las cajas ponga que es compatible con este sistema. Para lograr esto en Windows 7, Microsoft está presionando a la industria para que realice pruebas de compatibilidad de sus productos con Windows 7, por tanto, la etiqueta de "Designed for Windows 7" sea más difícil de conseguir que la de Windows Vista.

Además se adelanta que Windows 7 tendrá una mayor eficiencia en el uso de la batería y de la memoria, se desarrollará un Explorador de Windows desde cero, y por último, se dice que tendrá compatibilidad con interfaces de tipo multi-touch.

Sabiendo esto: ¿qué nombre le daríais vosotros al nuevo Windows?
